SKI MOUNTAINEERING
Ski mountaineering week on a sailing boat in the Svalbard islands.
Svalbard is an archipelago between Norway and the North Pole. One of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas, it's known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra sheltering polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes.
Flight to Longyearbyen and boarding on the sailboat Aleiga (Ovni 45).
We will sail in the direction of Barentsburg and if the weather conditions allow it we will go above Ny-Ålensund one of the most northern scientific settlements in the world. Every day if the weather permitting, we will do a ski mountaineering tour. Climbing and technical difficulties will not be important, but good ski touring skills are still required. We will use the tender to land and we will be in the realm of the Polar Bear, so the Alpine Guide will be armed for the defense of the group.
We will live by boat in narrow spaces with possible rough sea conditions and we will sail by day or by night according to the weather conditions.
Cost per person with a group of 5 people € 4550 (April 2020)
The cost includes: accommodation in a boat, food (alcoholic beverages excluded), Mountain Guide fee
The cost does not include: flight and what it is not included.
