I don't just guide. As a National Instructor I train the next generation of Italian mountain guides; as a CNSAS National Rescue Instructor I teach the mountain rescuers. I fly as a Helicopter Rescue Mountain Guide at the Aosta base, and I survey the snowpack for the Aosta Valley Avalanche Office.
Safety, for me, is not a slogan — it is my second profession.

Every spring I trade the Alps for the Arctic. In March–April a sailboat becomes our mobile basecamp among the fjords of the Lyngen Alps; in May we sail to Svalbard, 78°N, to ski untouched summits rising straight out of the Arctic Ocean.
After 15+ consecutive seasons of sail-and-ski trips in Svalbard, I bring years of specialized experience to every expedition.

A 5-day guided gravel bikepacking adventure linking the two most iconic peaks of the Alps — entirely on the Italian side, following gravel tracks, singletrack and the ancient Ru pathways of the Aosta Valley. Mountain refuges and Italian food at the end of every stage.

WHO IS CHRISTIAN CESA?
Christian Cesa is an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide based in Courmayeur, Aosta Valley, Italy, with over 25 years of professional experience. He is a member of the "Società delle Guide di Courmayeur", a National Instructor of the Italian Mountain Guides and of the Italian Mountain Rescue (CNSAS), a helicopter rescue technician, and a snow observer for the Aosta Valley Avalanche Office.
